Photo Basement

I've been kickin' around at new sites lately.
One that I discovered a few months ago,
but forgot about is Photo Basement.
Here are a couple of pictures I found funny and appropriate for this blog.

This one is titled dog-burgler.
Maybe he's just chilly.

This one is titled Flying The Dog

Lazy, But Kind Of Kickass

everyone has probably seen this dog

Poor puppy!
If you look closely, his nose is flaring.
Mmmmm, cupcakes. Must not eat cupcakes.

This just in...

Not sure why this struck me as so funny, but I guess it's the combination of big G just sitting there not reacting, or maybe that the police may or may not be reporting this, or that the guy is just so excited to be reading not one, but two bulletins.

Of course, after I published this I noticed that Garfield does react.
If you click on the picture to look at a larger image, you'll see him look at the audience.

Classics V

Sniglet: Any word that doesn't appear in the dictionary, but should.

Mrs. Beisbolfan and I even plan for this to happen.
"If the waitress comes by and snorfs me, ask them for extra napkins"

I remembered it as snorking, not snorfing, but that's something different.
We remember Snorks as some sort of cartoon creature as explained by our niece to her father. She was in her New York accent phase. "Who's that, baby?" "Oh that's just the snoahks, Daddy."

Classics IV

I know that they have 'Instant Classics' on ESPN the Ocho or ESPN Classic or whatever they call it, but these are cartoons that I have kept for a long time. Many of them contain phrases that Mrs. Beisbolfan and I use all the time. One such cartoon phrase is when we both are thinking and then say the same thing. This occurs with a frequency that is often scary! It's usually easily explained in that we both have a similar frame of reference and something external will trigger the thought. But sometimes it's not explainable other than we may be getting a psychic (read tiny electrical) nudge from the other...nah!
Over the years, we have slightly revised our take on this, saying "No, they don't" when we are of like mind. But the sentiment is the same.

Classics III

"Why We'll Never Understand Each Other ♂♀"
"What She Heard... It's your lot in life to stop whatever it is you're doing in order to serve my every need!"
What He Said...Honey...Do you know if we have any more triple-A batteries?"

"Art" imitates real life

So do you think that cartoonists actually have dogs? Nah...
Whaaaat?
The puppy likes to sit with us outside. Unfortunately she doesn't know which is her chair. I think Mrs. Beisbolfan is not as amused as I am when puppy does this. I did not, repeat, did not encourage this. Not this time.

naked Netflix

Netflix Vacation Policy
and Tracking
"there is no policy or tracking"

"There is also no clothing policy at Netflix, but no one
has come to work naked lately." -- Patty McCord, 2004

Lesson: you don't need detailed policies for everything

B-P T

MIAMI – Hurricane Felicia is continuing to gain strength far out in the Pacific.

Notice what the copy says, Felicia is far out in the Pacific

But, wait. What is the picture that they show along with the story?
Doesn't that look like a huge hurricane just off of Florida?
Why, yes, yes it does.
This is a picture of hurricane Ike from last year.
Terror, that's what they want us to feel, for just a little more notice, a little more revenue.
Remember, it's all about the money.
